A salt shaker is a salt shaker is ... The painter Tina Gaumer Ingraham demonstrates that this little glass thing with the silver top serves as an artistic motif. The most successful examples, oil paintings 30x30cm, are all in neutral tones and create a very harmonic effect, partly perhaps because of their size. Much of the effect is derived from the handling of the background. Sometimes an almost white brush stroke, only a few centimeters wide and applied with a flourish, creates just that effect.
